This is an improvement candidate for the new Epics Grid. We’re currently gathering interest to help us prioritize it. At this stage, we don’t yet know if or when it will be scheduled for development. Please feel free to comment and vote to share your support and feedback!

Currently, Details Panels Settings don't impact whether field/column is visible on the new Epics Grid. If we change it, inactive fields will "magically" disappear from grids, which might cause friction. The approach should be consistent across Jira Align, which makes this change very labor intensive.
