User Problem

Customers using Jira Align at the program level face challenges with manual data entry when updating the Forecast page with Story points. Currently, Story points that sync from Jira to Jira Align are not automatically added to the relevant Forecasts. This results in additional administrative work for users, as they must manually enter data even though Features are scoped to be within one Program Increment and one Program.

Suggested Solutions

• Automated Story Points Transfer: Implement functionality that automatically transfers Story points from synced Jira stories to the relevant Features on the Jira Align Forecast page. This would streamline the process, reducing manual input and potential errors.
• Conditional Logic for Forecast Updates: Develop logic that automatically updates the Forecast page when both the Program Increment and Program are defined. This ensures that the correct data is captured without manual intervention.
• User Configurable Automation: Allow users to configure settings that determine how and when Story points should be automatically transferred and updated in the Forecasts, offering flexibility to accommodate different workflows.

Current Workarounds

Users currently need to manually input Story points into the Forecast page once they have been synced from Jira to Jira Align. This process ensures that all relevant data is captured, but it can be time-consuming and prone to errors.
