Issue Summary
When attempting to import a story into Jira Align, the import is blocked if the name of an existing story is used (even though the import target is a different team).
Just after opening the import file, clicking View info shows the message "This story already exists". If Import Data is clicked, a pop-up is briefly seen that displays the text "Upload failed. This could be due to file size, internet speed, or formatting errors. Review the instructions to troubleshoot and then try again"
If the Jira Align console is used then importing a story with the same name as existing story is allowed and shows the duplicated story names are not inherently blocked.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a story in Jira Align with a specific name and assign it to a program and team (where the program does have more than one team)
- Using a clean import template create an entry for the same story and assign it to the same program, but specifying a different team
- Go to the import screen, browse and open the import file
- Click View Info in the stories section to see the message, then close the subpage that opened
- Click Import Data to se the pop-up message
- Then go the the Jira Align console an attempt to create the same story in the console
Expected Results
Import should work for stories, even if the story name already exists in Jira Align (and no matter what team or program are being specified) to be consistent with the behavior seen in the Jira Align Console, where duplicated story names are allowed.
Actual Results
Import fails with a message of "This story already exists" displayed in View Info
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior (if import must be used) . A workaround will be added here when available.
Story creation using the console will allow duplicate names to be used.
