Currently, Jira Align uses predefined colours for Objectives, Risks, and Features, but users need the ability to configure these colours to better align with their workflows and reporting standards.
This feature request proposes an enhancement to allow customisation of the status colour scheme for these elements.
Suggested Implementation:
- Add a configuration option in Jira Align settings where users can define the colours for Objectives, Risks, and Features.
- Provide preset templates as defaults while allowing users to create custom mappings.
- Objectives:
- On Track = Green
- At Risk = Amber
- Off Track = Red
- Risks:
- Allow risk colour coding based on different attributes, such as:
- Category
- Impact
- Due Date (for example, Overdue or Critical Risks = Red)
- Allow risk colour coding based on different attributes, such as:
- Features:
- The current colour scheme represents "State" instead of "Status" but uses the same RAG (Red, Amber, Green) format.
- To avoid confusion, a new configurable option should allow users to set colours distinct from the standard RAG scheme.
Business Impact & Justification:
- Improved Visual Clarity: The current status colours may not align with how organisations define progress and priorities, leading to confusion in reporting.
- Customisation for Business Needs: Different teams have different definitions of "at risk" or "in progress," and a fixed colour scheme does not always reflect actual priorities.
- Better Risk Management: Categorising risk colours based on impact and due date enables more effective tracking and prioritizations.
- Avoiding Misinterpretation: Features currently use state colours, but since they resemble RAG status indicators, this can lead to misinterpretation.
