Situation
Jira's archiving functionality provides a valuable way to manage completed or obsolete issues. However, this state isn't currently synchronized with Jira Align, leading to data discrepancies and potential reporting inaccuracies. When a Jira issue is archived, it remains visible and potentially active within Jira Align, creating confusion and hindering effective portfolio management.
Users relying on Jira Align for portfolio visibility and reporting can be misled by outdated information. Archived Jira issues can skew metrics, impact roadmaps, and create unnecessary noise in planning activities. This lack of synchronization forces users to manually reconcile data between Jira and Jira Align, impacting efficiency and increasing the risk of errors.
Enhancement
Implement support for Jira's "Archived" work item within Jira Align. When a Jira issue is archived, the corresponding work item in Jira Align should also be marked as archived or otherwise visually distinguished to reflect its inactive state.
To enhance the workflow in Jira Align and how it reflects in Jira (vice-versa), it would be also beneficial to implement a system for archiving work items in Jira Align.

Jira Align team - please prioritize this as it is becoming an issue with our systems. Our users are archiving in Jira, however those items continue active in Jira Align. This is causing confusion and reports discrepancy. Thanks.
