Summary:
The current system allows users to add feature epics from multiple programs into a single initiative, enabling collaboration across different portfolios. However, there is a limitation in sharing portfolio objectives across these portfolios. Programs cannot align their objectives with shared portfolio objectives if they belong to different portfolios. This results in a gap where teams contributing to the same in
Example:
Imagine the following example: Company A is developing an AI product with components for web, platform, and mobile. The initiative aims to launch the product across all geographies and platforms with a unified goal and key results. Despite all components contributing to the same initiative, they belong to different portfolios (web, platform, and mobile) and thus cannot align their objectives to a single portfolio objective.
Suggestion:
Jira Align should be enhanced to allow:

- And enable programs, even if they are part of separate portfolios, to ladder up to shared portfolio objectives.
This change would facilitate better alignment of outcomes and OKRs across initiatives, ensuring all contributing teams can work towards common goals effectively.
