User Problem
There are inconsistencies in email notifications received from Jira Align compared to Jira. Notifications from Jira Align use a vague sender email address (donotreply@jiraalign.com) and have non-descriptive subject lines (for example, "Update epic comments - 4/17"), making it challenging to identify the work item associated with the notification. This causes inefficiency when sorting or searching for notifications, as users can't tell which work item or title the email refers to without opening it.
Suggested Solutions
- Format Jira Align email notifications similarly to Jira notifications.
- Include detailed and descriptive subject lines with the issue key and the work item's title (for example, “Epic #1234 - RTN 45678 Employee Benefits MVP”).
- Ensure that tagging in the Jira Align Discussions tab triggers email notifications with these enhanced subject lines.
- Use a sender email address that clarifies more than "donotreply@jiraalign.com."
- Align email subject formats across all Atlassian products to make searching and managing emails easier.
Current Workarounds
Currently, users must open each email to determine the work item. Additionally, it is necessary to inform recipients not to ignore the vague "do not reply" email sender address since it may contain important information. There is no efficient way to search for or organize these emails based on work item details without opening them individually.
