Currently there is no way to tie portfolio epics (initiatives) directly to key results.  The epics can be tied to an overall objective with many OKRs, but not all of the OKRs in the objective may be relevant to all of the teams working on the initiatives.

As a product team, there is a need to be able to understand and connect what are the key results to the portfolio work.

At this time, if you have a book of work on the portfolio level, there isn't a way to tie Key Results without portfolio objectives.

Use Case: As an organization, A single portfolio objective could have multiple epic portfolios (aka Initiatives). In this scenario which can be quite common – it is important to understand what are the key results associated with that epic portfolio/Initiative.

As an example: If a company has a major objective to have all teams work on AI and there are 3 portfolio initiatives across mobile, desktop, platform — they may have different KRs. It's important to be able to connect what KRs are associated with each portfolio epic (initiative)

For instance: you may have these KRs

1- Maintain 99.999% uptime throughout 2025

2- Ensure user interface supports 100% of android and iOS devices

3- Achieve NPS score >60

In this example:

• Initiative A is specifically for the platform team and should be tied to KR#1
• Initiative B for mobile team is primarily tied to KR #2
• Initiative A & B contribute to KR #3

Our teams focus on epics and work and want to that effort to specific KRs. An Objective may have 10 KRs but not all the KRs are associated with all teams.
