Issue Summary
The system role that has only view-only permission for a specific Custom hierarchy can view and edit the value of any Custom hierarchy in the work item
Steps to Reproduce
- User is mapped to " TestRole".
- Go to Administration > Roles > Select "TestRole"
- Expand Administration -> Other Setup -> Disable the "Custom Hierarchies" main toggle
- Click on Manage next to "Custom Hierarchies"
- Enable toggle for only 1 Custom Hierarchy as view-only
- Now go to work item such as Portfolio Epic
- Even with a View-only permission for one hierarchy, the user is still able to edit the value of the Custom hierarchy and any other CH in the work item (also delete the value).
On the work items: does not behave as expected
Custom rooms: behave as expected
Not able to see custom rooms from the Custom room menu for other hierarchies
Not able to select other hierarchies in the filters
Expected Results
The user who has view-only permission for a single Custom hierarchy should not be able to view and edit other Custom hierarchies in the work item slide-out panel
Actual Results
The user who has view-only permission for a single Custom hierarchy is still able to edit the value of the Custom hierarchy and any other Custom hierarchy in the work item's slide-out panel (also able to remove the value).
Workaround
Currently, there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
