When a dependency is created in Jira Align, the person that created it is automatically set as the owner.  There is not a way to change this, both in the UI and API.  The owner is something that should be separate from the creator, with the ability to be changed - as dependencies are sometimes created on behalf of someone else, or if the current owner leaves the team and is stuck as the owner.

Problem: This becomes a problem when the user creating the dependency ticket is doing it on behalf of the owner of the dependency or the person who created it is no longer on the team

Suggestion: The Dependency object needs a “Creator” and “Owner” field. The creator field is who created the dependency but it does not necessarily mean they are the owner – in general that could be the case but there are multiple use-cases where that is NOT the case. There needs to be an additional field that can be changed via UI or API to indicate who the real owner of the dependency is vs. who created the dependency
