User Problem

Customers wish to deploy Jira Align on-premise behind reverse proxy solutions for a variety of reasons related to security and availability. Many other Atlassian products support reverse proxies, as outlined in: https://confluence.atlassian.com/kb/proxying-atlassian-server-applications-with-apache-http-server-mod_proxy_http-806032611.html

Jira Align does not currently support reverse proxies in this fashion and customers who wish to use them do not have documentation or support currently to achieve this goal. Jira Align also does not use context paths which makes even self-supported implementations of Jira Align behind a reverse proxy difficult.

Suggested Solutions

*Implementing context paths in Jira Align as an option would allow it to fall in line with other Atlassian server products and add it to the above linked documentation.

• Investigate, test, and document a novel reverse proxy deployment for Jira Align on-premise.
