Roadmap and Dependencies - Roadmap should be able to show dependencies across multiple programs

      Summary:

Our Roadmap lacks an effective visualization that illustrates the consequences of modifications made to a specific dependency and how such changes ripple through the entirety of the program. This limitation hinders our ability to grasp the full scope of impacts triggered by alterations to a single dependency, as the current system necessitates navigating across five distinct pages to piece together a comprehensive understanding.

While Jira Align offers a feature that showcases dependency views to highlight commitments, it falls short in facilitating meaningful discussions around the repercussions of potential delays. There is a noticeable absence of a streamlined method to communicate how these delays impact the project at large or to explore the necessary adjustments and trade-offs that product leaders must consider. This gap in our toolset restricts our ability to make informed decisions and efficiently manage dependencies, ultimately affecting our project's success and delivery timelines.

      Suggestion:

I would like to suggest that the roadmap had the capacity to easily show and drill down dependencies so the user may understand the impact through the Programs.

The following customer quotes explain a bit more the suggestion above:

"Wouldn’t it be easier to have a meeting where we flash up the roadmap screen with the dependencies that are impacting the program and everyone is like “Oh --it’s clear as day that Dependency from Team X is going to affect Team Y and Z” and we have a discussion on trade-off of shifting that priority.
It should be a 5 minute conversation requiring multiple clicks and pages to get the same insight."
