User Problem

Currently, Jira Align treats the dependency management workflow primarily as a means to finalize the dependency contract between two teams, rather than as an intake and prioritization process. This approach does not fully meet our users' expectations, who anticipate a more comprehensive functionality within the dependency management workflow, including the capability to handle dependencies more dynamically and informatively.

Suggested Solutions

To enhance the user experience and meet expectations, it is suggested to incorporate templated descriptions within the dependency management workflow. These templates would provide standardized fields and prompts to ensure that all necessary information required in the dependency request contract is accurately captured and communicated. This change would make the dependency management process more structured and efficient, allowing for better tracking and resolution of dependencies.
