      Issue Summary

In a configuration with a Process Flow configured for Stories that has map to State enabled and is correctly configured to sync the State of 5 - Accepted to a Process Step, then changing the state of the story in JA to 5-Accepted and clicking save does not update the Process Step of the same story. However, changing  the Process Step to the one mapped to 5 - Accepted and clicking Save will change the State to 5 - Accepted (in effect bidirectional changes are not working)

For any other States configured to map to Process Steps in the same Process Flow, then bidirectional changes do work correctly

      Steps to Reproduce

Note: For the tech support reproduction this was done in a Jira integrated configuration, using an example story that had originally been created in Jira (and was not already set to accepted/done)

      1. Setup and configure a Story Process Flow that is linked to the Program of the story and make sure that Map to State is enabled and at least 3 of the States are mapped to Process Steps. Also make sure Process Steps are visible/enabled in the Details Panel Settings of your stories
      2. In the Story, make a note of the current Process Step and State, then change the State to 5-Accepted and click Save. Check to see if the Process Step has changed (it should not have)
      3. Then change the State to one of the other states that are configured in the Process Flow (so not 5-Accepted and not the original state) and click Save. This time the Process Step will have changed in the story
      4. Then change the Process Step set in the story to the one that is mapped to 5-Accepted in the Process Flow and click Save . In this direction the State of the story will be changed to 5-Accepted.
      5. Then change the Process Step to one of the other steps in the Process Flow and click Save. This will also change the State

      Expected Results

With Map to State configured in the story Process Flow, setting 5-Accepted or the Process Step equivalent to 5-Accepted, should bidirectionally change the value set in the other field in the story using the mapped value set in the Process Flow.

      Actual Results

With Map to State configured in the story Process Flow, setting 5-Accepted does not set the Process Step, but setting the Process Step equivalent to 5-Accepted does set the State.

Setting any other State does update the Process Step (and also works in the other direction)

      Workaround

When using Process Steps we recommend users always make change by adjusting the Process Steps, Adjusting States should only be used when Process Steps are not enabled.
