In Jira Align you can indicate for every feature/capability/epic the predecessor and successor. This valuable information is not shown in the roadmap view.
I would like to have toggle that:
- shows lines between predecessors and successors
- adds rows for all predecessors and successors of tickets that are in the current filter.
Use case:
We have a deadline in a few quarters. If we can make this deadline is defined by the critical path (features that need to be implemented in a certain order). We need to see what the critical path is.
You could argue that this is not very SAFe/agile, but this is the nature of the market for some of our products (complex and with hardware).
Advantages:
- Visually see if a plan is feasible. If a successor starts before the predecessor is done, the plan is not feasible.
- Easier to explain the priorities. Items in the critical path have higher priority
- Easier to understand the total impact of delay if a predecessor delays.
- predecessors are more aware that there are successors.
- For people in the company that are not SAFe enthusiast, this is a must have to start using Jira align.
