Sync Team associated to Features with Jira

      User Problem

      Currently Teams are linked to Features in Jira Align via the Child Stories of each Feature. However the Quick View Panel of Features in the Program Board in Jira Align does display the Team associations for Features (and even lets you manually add more teams)  

      Can we enhance the Jira Connector so that this team data for Features can be synchronized into Jira?

      Scenario as described by the reporting customer:

      Some programs have a lot of features and need to be able to see a team-feature-association to manage team-load and team-specific prioritizations before they have story-breakdowns. It is acknowledged that this is not coherent with agile WoW but this is the current state of WoW in some building blocks.
      Although it is not perfect agile/SAFe practice features get assigned to specific teams in the planning process before PI plannings. In order to track this in Jira Align we need a field (or an another option) in the feature to assign one or more teams to a feature. This will serve to filter the feature backlog and other views for each team and can deliver input for pi planning feature>team assignment.

      This information should get synced to Jira as well.

       

      This request may need some thought  as:

      • At the story level teams in Jira align usually mean boards in Jira
      • Currently Jira Align Stories can only be linked to a single team, making synchronization into a single board (or Jira Custom Field that only accepts one Team, as a value, at a time) possible
      • Jira Align Features however can be associated to multiple Teams (via child Stories or direct configuration in the Quick View Panel) 
      • If a Jira Custom Team field that allows multiple Teams to be set as values is used then a mechanism that allows the same Jira Epic to appear in different boards based on just part of the field content will be needed (and configuration of such documented)
      • There is an existing Suggestion Ticket for making the Team association to Features visible and filterable in other areas of Jira Align such as the Feature Grid/List (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JIRAALIGN-5788) - this enhancement will also be needed to provide a complete solution to the reporting customers requirements

      Suggested Solutions

      Allow Jira Align to Sync the Feature Team Association List to some kind of custom field in a Jira Epic and then document how to configure Jira to handle displaying such Epics in the correct Jira boards 

      Current Workarounds

      Use the Jira Align Program Boards as the only place (across either Jira or Jira Align)  to see the associations of teams to features
