Epics are shared across multiple teams using the component field as the filter for Jira Team boards. This is the only way for multiple teams to collaborate on a feature delivery. The Jira Align team is assigned at the story level so the contribution is identified. But the configuration for team is a single select.. so we need to view the components which is driving the visibility of the work with the teams. We have a number of product managers who manage different components within their product.. This is also a way for them to filter the backlog if the components is made visible.
