Issue Summary
Cannot send scheduled emails to more than 50 recipients. Email Logs indicate that we send email to ALL while emails past 50 get silently cut off.
This is a limitation of AWS:
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/dg/quotas.html
| Resource | Default Quota | Adjustable |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum number of recipients per message | 50 recipients per message. Note A recipient is any "To", "CC", or "BCC" address. |
No |
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a scheduled email in Administration → Settings → Email → Scheduled Email, with added groups that include more than 50 recipients
- Try sending the email
- Observe that it did not arrive to recipients past the first 50
- Observe Jira Align email log (Administration → Logs → Email, select email) says that it sent the email to ALL recipients (more than 50, all of them)
- Can't find any other warning or error in UI
Expected Results
The email log (Administration → Logs → Email, select email) should indicate only the 50 users the message got sent to.
Actual Results
Jira Align UI indicates that email is sent to ALL (more than 50), even though email is only sent to the first 50 recipients.
Workaround
Currently, there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
Try to split the recipients between clones of the same rule, (though this may not be possible if a single selected group contains more than 50 people).
