Issue Summary

Even Need by field is set as Required, Users are able to create Dependencies without Needed By date when they select depends on as "Program" or "External". And then, when the user attempts to edit later, the error Select a Needed by/Due Date is generated.

This is reproducible on Data Center: (yes)

Steps to Reproduce

Pre-requisite : Need By must be enabled and required in the Details Panels Settings for Dependencies work item type

1. Step 1. Browse to the Dependencies page; then click Add Dependency button or create Dependency
2. Step 2. Fill in details and Do NOT enter needed by date ( even this is set as Required)
3. Step 3. Dependency gets created successfully without needed by date
4. Step 4. Go back to the dependency, and try to edit and save it, it gives an error – Select a Needed by/Due Date

Note: There is a similar bug JIRAALIGN-1789 (not the same one), but it fixed on 10.76

Expected Results

Dependency shouldn’t be created as the Needed by field is required

Actual Results

Dependency is created even Needed by field is required, and then the error Select a Needed by/Due Date is generated after creation.

Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
