      Issue Summary

Global Portfolio Rank column can be added to backlog view. The rank in this column causes confusion because:

      • Values are skipped (can also be non-sequential)
      • It is not clear what this rank is based on

It is not clear why values are skipped because it is not clear what this column is based on and what it is intended to show.

      • Not documented but there is a tooltip showing: "the overall rank of the work item for the Portfolio independent of any specific Program Increment"
        • Column skips values when only one portfolio is selected, no program increments selected.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Use an instance of Jira Align with existing data
        • Behavior is expected to be common enough to exist in most sets of data, including demo data
      2. Enable toggle 43 "Show parent ranks"
      3. Add "Portfolio Rank" to backlog view for epics and features
      4. Observe values in "Global Portfolio Rank"
        • Switch between portfolios and PIs as desired, observe values being skipped

      Expected Results

Need investigation: The column shows a rank value that is explained in documentation. If values are skipped the user is able to figure out what item(s) are ranked at that value (therefore understanding why value is being skipped)

      Actual Results

Column is not in documentation. Tooltip description does not match the actual behavior. Not able to figure out why values are skipped (not able to determine what is currently ranked at that value)

      Workaround

The number on the left is the actual rank and if that rank is right then you may want to hide the "Global Portfolio Rank" so that you only have a single rank visible, the one that is accurate for the list of things showing.

To hide it you just need to click "Columns Shown" and uncheck it
