Description
Issue Summary
Jira Align Feature Title maps to Jira Epic Name and the Jira Align Feature Summary maps to the Jira Epic Summary for Classic projects (see picture). The Epic Name field does not exist on Next Gen Epics.
Steps to Reproduce
- Connect a Next Gen Jira Project to JA
- Modify Epic Names and Summaries
Expected Results
When we pull in an issue from Jira into Jira Align, we pull in the Jira Summary into both the title and Align summary. After that creation, the sync will only sync Align summary field not affecting the Jira Align title field.
When the Epic Summary is changed on a Next Gen project in Jira, the Jira Align Feature Title and Summary are NOT both updated, only the Summary is updated in Jira Align. There should not be an audit log entry for the Jira Align Feature Title update. The audit log should only show the Jira Align Feature Summary update
Actual Results
When the Feature Title is updated in JA for a Feature that corresponds to a Jira Epic in a Next Gen project, there is an Audit Log entry a little later which shows that the JA Feature Title has been reset by the External System to the original value. It appears that since there is no Epic Name available for Next Gen projects, Jira rejects the JA Feature Title change and resets it.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
