[JIRAALIGN-1432] Jira and Jira Align Integration: There is not a method to avoid syncing the child sub-tasks of integrated stories

      Issue Summary

      Jira and Jira Align Integration: There is not a method to avoid syncing the child sub-tasks of integrated stories

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Configure the Jira and Jira Align Integration to Sync Stories but turn off enable Task Sync toggle and Null out the Sub-Task ID and Name fields under Jira Align Admin > Jira Settings > Jira Setup

      Expected Results

      To be defined by integrations Product Management in conjunction with integrations engineering. The Sub-Tasks should not sync or there should be better guidance provided in the UI of the Product and help documentaiton.

      Actual Results

      Sub-Tasks sync.

      Workaround

      Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available

            Hi all,

            All tasks currently sync to Jira Align for two primary reasons. 1) To support the roll-up of Jira Align financials (by assigning the appropriate users to sprints), and 2) due to our licensing model. We are discussing ways to bring over the necessary information without syncing the actual task object, but this likely won't be a change we'll implement in the short term. For now, we'll add a tooltip and update our documentation. As we finalize any changes, we'll make sure our release notes and this ticket are updated accordingly. Please let us know if there are any questions.
