Issue Summary
When users attempt to change their Atlassian account email to a desired email address that is already associated with another account, the UI misleadingly displays
"Update pending verification" and prompts users to check the desired email's inbox, where no verification email will be received.
This can confuse users and mislead them about the status of their email change request.
Steps to Reproduce
- Attempt to change the email address of an Atlassian account to a desired email address that is already associated with another Atlassian account.
- Observe the message displayed in the UI after initiating the email change request.
Expected Results
- The UI should clearly indicate that the email change is not feasible due to the desired email already being associated with another account.
Actual Results
- The UI misleadingly displays "Update pending verification" and prompts users to check the desired email's inbox for a verification email that will not arrive.
Workaround
Currently, there is no known workaround for this behaviour. A workaround will be added here when available.
