China Users Face "Google Recaptcha Failed to Load" When Logging In

      Problem Definition

      When we have few times of failed login, id.atlassian.com will prompt Google Recaptcha upon login. This is not convenience for China users as Google is blocked in China.

      Suggestion

      1. Use In-House Recaptcha method
      2. Allow admin to clear the failed login count or disable Recaptcha if the domain is verified in the instance.

      Workaround

      1. Apply VPN to turn around the China restriction.
      2. Use "having trouble logging in" link to reset a new password:
        1. Click on the '"having trouble logging in" link at the main login page
        2. Enter the affected email address, click "I'm not a robot" and do the Google captcha dance.
        3. Send.
        4. You will then receive a password reset email so you can set up a new password, by passing the Google captcha.
