            Hi everyone,

We have some good news - we’ve made significant progress on developing two-step verification for Atlassian Cloud.

            *What is two-step verification?*
Two-step verification secures your Atlassian account by requiring a second login step. That second step helps to keep your account secure, even if your password is compromised.

            *Two-step verification limited beta*
We know that two-step verification has been a highly requested feature from many of our customers who are looking to add extra security to their Atlassian accounts. We’ve been hard at work to offer this and are ready for some feedback.

We’ll start by launching a beta to a limited number of people. At this stage, we’re keeping the numbers relatively low but we’ll be rolling out a more publicly available version to our Atlassian Cloud customers at a later date.

To be eligible for the beta, you’ll need to have an Atlassian account that you use for login access to JIRA and/or Confluence.

We’ve already identified and emailed some of you on this ticket. However, if you meet the eligibility criteria outlined above, please [contact us|mailto:2sv-beta@atlassian.com?subject=Atlassian account two-step verification beta] and we’ll email you directly with further details. All we ask in exchange for taking part in the beta is feedback on your experience.

            Thanks,

            Tom

            h3. Problem Definition

Cloud does not offer two-factor authentication. There's a feature request at CLOUD-7828 for DUO specifically, but clients might want something besides DUO
            h3. Suggested Solution

Consider adding two-factor authentication in Cloud
            h3. Workaround

It may be possible to add the desired two-factor authentication method to Google Apps and then connect Google Apps with Cloud.
