Localization of slash commands

XMLWordPrintable

    • Japanese

Currently, in the fabric editor(new editor) in Confluence, the slash commands are localized. i.e. Japanese users will type "/コード" rather than "/code" to insert a code snippet. "/code" doesn't work. I have several concerns with this.

      1. the text to type after the slash will vary depending on the l10n situation. For example, currently "/expand" is not localized yet, so users will have to use English to insert this one
      2. I THINK slash commands are more popular w/o localized. For example, it is not localized in Slack.

Do you know whether the current situation is an expected one?

As an FYI, our slash commands include both formatting options and macros. Macros are mostly translated, so in my opinion, even if we decide to not localize the slash formatting options, slash macro options should be kept localized.
