Description
Summary
Push Notification is not sent for mobile users when they are away / idle / offline.
Environment
- HipChat Server 2.0 Build 1.4.1
- Android HipChat Client 3.12.008
Steps to Reproduce
- Close the HipChat client on your mobile device (without logging out)
- Lock your mobile device's screen
- Place your desktop client in Away status
- Have another user send you an @mention in a room or a 1-1 conversation.
- Wait for the push notification to appear on your locked screen
Expected Results
You should see a push notification populate on your locked screen. You can tap / slide on it and it will launch the app into the room / person that has the message.
Actual Results
No push notifications were sent out to the device.
Notes
- In-app notifications still work as per normal
- It works when you enable Stay Connected and Room messages together as you will receive every message that comes to the device
- For Android specifically, tests were done against the following versions:
- Android 6.0.1 (NOT REPRODUCIBLE)
- Android 5.1.1 ( NOT REPRODUCIBLE)
- Android 5.0.2 (REPRODUCIBLE)
- Android 4.4 (REPRODUCIBLE)
