Thanks for voting and commenting on this issue. Your feedback is really important in helping us understand how you use HipChat so we can continue improving your experience.
With the announcement of HipChat Data Center we have a new architecture that meets the requests from many of our existing HipChat Server customers: it's similar to the rest of the Atlassian products you know and love. HipChat does not ship as an appliance with data stores included. Instead, HipChat Data Center ships as a VMWare image or AWS AMI with externalized data stores - this means you bring your own database, data stores, and load balancer for both AWS and VMWare deployments. To learn more, check out our sizing guide and deployment options and configuration requirements in the installation guide.
We're re-opening this suggestion because we value your feedback. We want to hear more about what deployment options you want as we continue on our journey to bring you high availability, performance at scale and enterprise flexibility and control.
Please remember that your suggestions on jira.atlassian.com are one of many inputs for the HipChat roadmap. You can learn more about our process here: Implementation of New Features Policy
We thank you for your feedback, and will continue to listen to you and all our customers to better understand your needs.
