Workaround
Option 1 - Revert to an older client version
- Uninstall the HipChat for Windows v4.0 client
- Download a previous version by accessing https://<hcsFQDN>/downloads to retrieve the version bundled with HipChat Server or download Windows client v2.2.1397
- Install previous version
Option 2 - Install a patched version of HipChat for Windows v4.0
- Uninstall the current HipChat for Windows v4.0 client
- Download the patched version from the link below:
https://hipchat-ops.s3.amazonaws.com/hipchat4/windows/HipChat_4.0.1614.exe - Install the patched version and attempt to connect
If the patched version of HipChat for Windows (v4.0.1614) does not resolve the problem, please review HCPUB-25 to determine if it is relevant. If not, please create a HipChat Server support ticket at https://support.atlassian.com/ for additional assistance.
Notes
Upgrading to HipChat Server v1.3.7 (currently in beta) may help to resolve this issue, but has not yet been confirmed. Please try the workarounds listed above first and only attempt the upgrade to HipChat Server v1.3.7 after creating a backup in case a rollback is needed.
