Project Configurator for JIRA permits project export and import between different JIRA instances, including boards and Agile data (on JIRA 7). Boards can also be exported/imported independently from project data.

(Disclaimer: I am part of the team behind this plugin)

They have stated that because boards are so highly customizable that they wont be able to migrate them with projects... however since a board itself can be applied to any project based on its filter, maybe they can implement a seporate "board export/import" feature.

Is there a plan to include boards as part of the Agile migration data and in which version or when is this scheduled for?

_"In JIRA 7.0, the Project Import functionality between identical instances of JIRA supports some Active Objects data. For example:
Data that will be imported: JIRA Software's sprint data and ranking data
Data that will not be imported: JIRA Software's board configuration data and Service Desk customer portals"_

Thanks David! I thought that was the common use case.

            Sandra,

I'm guessing that they didn't turn the cloud version 'off' once some of them started using the local server version? And so now there is data in both instances that is 'current'? If that isn't the case then....they didn't start the server version off with a fresh export from cloud? Customers can do the most curious things at times.

Why don't you just email me directly or through LinkedIn - I will definitely share my information with you.

wcrighton We often see the following scenario: At big companies there often are several instances of JIRA (and Confluence). At one point in time someone wants to merge the two for one or several of the following reasons:

            • JIRA is moved into centralized IT
            • License costs
            • Maintenance costs
            • ...
