For firefox and safari, the app jira:command forge module does not capture keystrokes until explicitly clicked in the app area. This does not happen for Chrome based browsers. 

I tested this on chromium based browser and it was working as expected.

How to Replicate

• Please install the app [^example-focus-palette.zip]

• On Firefox or Safari, for Jira instance, first open search by clicking Command + K on mac

• then search for the app installed.

• Once opened, try to type something. The app would not capture the keystorks until explicitly clicked in the app area.
