App users are still present and active after a third-party app has been uninstalled from a Cloud site

      Problem Definition

      • Each third-party app from https://marketplace.atlassian.com/ has a corresponding "app user" account that is added to a Cloud site when a third-party app is installed
      • The app user(s) exists in order to enable the app's services when installed on a Cloud site
      • When a third-party app is uninstalled from a Cloud site, then the app user remains active on the Cloud site - this is expected behavior
      • After an app is uninstalled, the all the app records are deleted except for the app user itself - the app user is not able to login, access APIs or access any data on the Cloud site
      • Important: one major consideration with this Suggestion ticket is that for organizations on the centralized user management experience, the sites linked to the organization share the same userbase, so if there are multiple sites with the same app installed, then the app user must stay active when uninstalled from a single site to ensure that the app still works on the sites where the app is still installed

      Suggested Solution

      • Remove the app user when the corresponding app is uninstalled

      Why this is important

      • Maintain a "clean" user base on the Cloud site and reduce chances of potential complications in the future

      Workaround

No known workarounds. A workaround will be added here if a workaround is found.
