Supporting the UPM in Crowd is currently a road-block in allowing third-party plugin vendors to sell Crowd plugins via the "paid-via-atlassian" marketplace model.

            Hi gagarwal,

So far this issue is the canonical request for PvA apps in Crowd. This has been a conversation that all interested app vendors are having with the Marketplace team ever since the release of the Marketplace in 2012, and we have always been referred to this very issue.

I completely understand that technically enabling UPM is a different step than supporting that in the Marketplace (hence my question), but I don't even know where I should request PvA support at this point, CWD, UPM, AMKTHELP? You get the idea

May I suggest that your team takes ownership of this feature's long standing scope and coordinate required follow-up steps with the relevant Atlassian teams?

            Many thanks,
            Steffen

            Hi sopel1,

We are glad that you are happy about UPM.

Regarding the "paid-via-atlassian" option in UPM, it is not in the scope of the current release but I recommend you to kindly raise a feature improvement request for it.

            Thanks,

            Gaurav Agarwal

Wow, pretty unexpected and very exciting news, thanks a lot for making this happen gagarwal

Does this already imply support for "paid-via-atlassian" Crowd apps in the Atlassian Marketplace, or does this require separate enablement from the Marketplace team?

Crowd is available from the Atlassian website ( https://www.atlassian.com/software/crowd ). Recent releases contain new features, improvements and bugfixes.

Is crowd dead? They don't even list it on their website as a product.

Hmm. Okay, no UPM compatibility simply means admins can't browse marketplace, determine compatibility and install from within the Crowd UI. It's not obvious but it is possible to manually download the jar file of a plugin and install from the command line.

Tedious, and a barrier for sure.

Perhaps this should be considered critical. Marketplace Vendors rely on UPM compatibility in order to get their innovations to a paying audience.

            No UPM = less incentive.
