Issue Summary
Background
- When we directly watch a calendar and hover mouse around it, it shows "Stop watching the calendar"
- When we watch the page/space where calendar exists, it shows "You're watching this calendar via pages"
Issue
When we watch a page and a calendar is embedded in it, it should allow automatically watch the calendar and trigger the notifications upon adding events in calendar but that is not happening in Confluence 9.x versions anymore however when we watch the entire space content instead of a specific page it works as expected. Both the scenario works in 8.5.x.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a confluence user with non-admin rights.
- As an admin, create a calendar
- As an admin, create a page.
- As a confluence user, watch that specific page not all content in space
- Now as an admin, embed a calendar into that page using Team Calendar macro
- Now as a confluence user, go to Spaces-> Calendar and click on the 3 dots on that specific calendar and see if you are shown as "You're watching this calendar via pages" or not
- Now add an event
Expected Results
For Step 6:
It should show as Watching with a message "You're watching this calendar via pages"
![]()
For Step 7:
It triggers a notification to the user.
Actual Results
For Step 6:
The Watch option remains as it is.
![]()
For Step 7:
It doesn't triggers a notification to the user.
Workaround
If you watch all content in that space instead of a specific page it works as expected.
