Issue Summary
Page restrictions are not inherited to child pages if the child page is created via Templates e.g Meeting notes template.
This is reproducible on Data Center: yes
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a page and apply page restriction for some user (View and edit restriction)
- Create a child page using Template(meeting notes) and publish/save
- You will see the page restrictions of parent page are not inherited to child pages. The message "Everyone can view and edit the page"
Expected Results
The child page should have the parent page restrictions inherited irrespective of the page is created via templates or as a normal page.
Note : The Normal Page(created without templates) restrictions are working fine. The child pages are inheriting the parent page restrictions correctly.
Note : On testing Confluence version 7.13.7 version, the restriction inheritance is working fine for child pages with templates.
Note : Not able to reproduce this issue while Collaborative Editing(CE) is disabled.
Actual Results
The Child pages created via Templates are not inheriting the page restrictions from parent page.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
