Confusion regarding enabling "External User Management" option in General Configuration menu when integrating with LDAP

      Users are confused with the "External User Management" function provided in Confluence's Administration menu. In Confluence's Administration menu, the Help Tips located on the right hand side stated that:

      > External User Management:
      > Enable this option if you are delegating your user management to JIRA, LDAP or any other user management system.
      > Default: OFF

      This suggest that this function should be enabled even when integrating LDAP. However, in the following documentation, it states:

      > If your user management is being done with LDAP, you must not turn on external user management, although users and groups which exist in your LDAP repository cannot be modified
