After upgrading to v2.3 the People Directory was empty. Then we created (sign up) new users and they are the only ones showing up in the People Directory. The same thing happened in a clean install on a local computer with just our backup data applied.

CONF-6404 New users only appear in people directory after logging in

[CONFSERVER-7668] Only new users show up in People Directory

This is in fact a duplicate of CONF-6404. Please watch that issue for updates.

            Hi everyone,

I faced a similar issue in v2.4.3 , and it still exists in v2.6 . I am using external user management.I have enabled ConfluenceGroupJoiningAuthenticator.

The first time I clicked people directory after upgrading to v2.6, I saw a blank screen.so ,
            1. I executed the indexes provided by Atlassian on their upgrade page
            2. I rebuild the index from the "Content Indexing" link in 'Administration' menu.

After this, I clicked on the people directory again, click the search button, and then only I could see 383 users.

After this, I used the userlister macro to find the "confluence-users", because that was the only way to check whether people directory showed me the correct results. I found that confluence-users were about 1400 and people directory showed only 383 users !!
I contacted Atlassian support and they told me to check any user who had not logged into the site anytime , and then see in the people directory whether he shows up. I did the same, and found that this new users showed up in the people directory.

So it seems the problem is still not fixed. Please do the needful
            Thanks,
            Pranav

            Hi everyone,

This is probably caused by CONF-7663 . The people directory user list is built from the lucene index and an upgrade to Confluence 2.3 does not rebuild the index correctly. Running a full reindex should remedy this problem in the meantime.

Could you please get back to me if this fixes the problem? If so, I will close this problem as being fixed in Confluence 2.3.2 with the resolution of CONF-7663

            Cheers,
            Chris

I am also seeing this issue. When I login, I can only see myself in the people directory.

            upgraded 2.2.3 to 2.3.1
            using multiple ldap for login.

            Hi,

Exported a backup from Confluence 2.2.10 and restored in a new Confluence 2.3 instance. Bug replicable.

            Regards,
            Tony
