This behaviour occurs intermittently without any special actions by the user.

      Steps to Reproduce

This behaviour is not consistently reproducible, but may occur when a page is published and edited.

      Expected Results

The editor should display only the page content.

      Actual Results

The content appears to be duplicated in edit mode, and publishing the page results in the duplicated content being visible in view mode.

            Hi All,

We had previously thought that this issue was caused by CONFSERVER-69074: Duplicate Content Shown When Editing A Page After Modifying An Attachment (fixed in Confluence Server and Data Center 7.15.0) and had indicated this in the ticket notes.

With further investigation, we became unsure that was the case, and subsequently updated the ticket to reflect that we were unsure that fixing CONFSERVER-69074 would fix this issue.

With the benefit of additional time and investigation, we've now confirmed that this bug is caused by CONFSERVER-69074: Duplicate Content Shown When Editing A Page After Modifying An Attachment (fixed in Confluence Server and Data Center 7.15.0) as we originally believe, and as such we've marked it as a duplicate. If you're seeing this behaviour, please review the other issue.

We thought we were wrong, but it turns out we were wrong about that.

            Thanks,
            James Ponting

            Hi f3c105ec1ac0,

Thanks for the information from your tests.

The intermittent seemingly arbitrary nature of the problem makes it incredibly difficult to run down.

If you are able to replicate (in production or testing) and would be able to contribute your findings, I have some more information on gathering and reporting the problem in this Community Discussion.

There is an extension that you can install that will allow the collection of diagnostic data. It will need to be installed prior to the duplication event occurring in order to capture information.

Either way, we appreciate the information you've already shared.

            Thanks,
            James Ponting

Behavior exists in 7.13.2 as well.  Not sure if it is related to CONFSERVER-69074 or CONFSERVER-73383, but ours duplicates content seemingly randomly.  After a page is edited, the content may or may not get duplicated.  Problem is not reproduceable either - When problem occurred, we cloned our instance to a second server, adjusted the license to developer, and attempted to edit the exact same page with the exact same content, and the content was not duplicated on the second server.

Makes me wonder if MAYBE it is a client side problem (caches, cookies, etc), or is due to a multi-step process (happens after editing 10 pages in a single session for example).
