Improve copy and paste from Microsoft Excel into Confluence WYSIWYG editor

      Formatting is not preserved when copying and pasting data from Microsoft Excel into the Confluence WYSIWYG editor. Customers would like to see the WYSIWYG editor support this capability, preserving tables, formatting, etc..

            Additional notes about this major design flaw/bug:

            • Atlassian support tells me that copy-paste from one Confluence page to another also results in junk HTML. This is just bad programming; a  bug. Not a feature request.
            • The copy-paste problems occur regardless of where you are copy-pasting from: Notepad, Google docs, anything.

            Looks like this feature is never going to be implemented....

            Reported in 2006 and currently unassigned.

            Very dissapointing that such a simple feature has not been fixed in 14 years.

            I'm trying to paste a table with background-color formatting from an email, same need. Colors and centering in each cell is not preserved. Table contains privileged information but I can probably create a similar example if needed.
