Cannot Edit excel files when Page Name in macro is different from the current page title using Companion App

XMLWordPrintable

      Problem

The Edit button for attachments is not visible when using the Excel macro on pages that link to the original page where the excel attachment is present

      Environment

      Confluence 7.5, 7.6

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Add an excel file to a page (eg. Excel test)
      2. Add excel macro and select the excel file
      3. Save and Publish the page
      4. Confirm that the Edit button can be seen for this attachment (screenshot: excelTest.png)
      5. Create a new page (eg. Include Excel test)
      6. Add the excel macro. Edit and under Page Name, type "Excel test"
      7. Check that the excel file is selected under the File Name
      8. Save and publish this page
      9. Notice that the Edit button for this attachment is missing (screenshot: includeExcelTest.png)

      Expected Results

Edit button should be visible for attachments in all pages where the office excel macro is used

      Actual Results

Only the original page where the attachment is present displays the Edit button. Other excel macros referencing this original page do not show the Edit button

      Workaround

This behavior is not replicable when using the Office Connector
If you'd like to enable this, please review Office Connector Limitations prior to turning it on for your users.
