Issue Summary
Comparing page versions with sections compares the entire page instead of just changes
This also affects email notifications that show the difference of what has changed in a page between versions
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a page with multiple sections
- Add large amount of texts, a few pages worth
- Edit the page somewhere in the middle
- Compare the published version with the current one
- Notice the entire page is displayed and does not truncate large chunks of unchaged text as expected into •••
Expected Results
Large portions of unchanged text are hidden or truncated into ellipses •••
Actual Results
The entire page is shown for comparison making it harder to find individual changes.
Notes
Taken from our KB page history & comparison:
When you view a page comparison, all large sections of unchanged text are hidden and reduced to an ellipsis (. . .).
Which is true for pages without sections. If you use the same amount of text on a page with out sections, it will hide the large portions of text unchanged showing you only the modifications.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
