Summary

When Confluence tries to look up something in the cache using a NULL, it cannot find it and outputs the following error in the atlassian-confluence.log file:

2018-10-11 15:38:29,703 WARN [main] [confluence.impl.vcache.SynchronousExternalCache] lambda$get$11 Failed to read entry from cache 'com.atlassian.bandana.BandanaPersister': Failed due to UNCLASSIFIED_FAILURE

[CONFSERVER-57470] Better error reporting in vcache for null lookups

            Hi Atlassian Team,

I am also seeing same errors floating in 7.4.4 as well due to this our monitoring tool is killing us with error percentage messages.

            kindly let us know,

            1. will it impact the confluence performance due to this errors?
            2. is there any work around to stop these error messages?

In my case the plugin state map was reset. Since then the message is gone.

This error causes our Confluence Server 7.4.1 to take an extra 5 minutes to start up.

            Please fix or find workaround.

            Thanks!

            Hi,

We have migrated to Confluence Server 7.4.0 and it was working fine. Now we have followed https://confluence.atlassian.com/kb/how-to-fix-the-collation-and-character-set-of-a-mysql-database-744326173.html to use 4-bytes, and now, Confluence does not start

Affects also Confluence Enterprise Server 6.13.10

Appears at least 24 times during boot time, that wastes few minutes
