Summary

Clicking view from the attachments summary page opens attachment in a Confluence page rather than in a preview light box.

It can be very confusing especially if the user is attempting to edit an office document with Companion App.

Environment

• Confluence Server 6.11.0 or 6.11.1

Steps to Reproduce

Navigate to page containing attachment
Select . . . > Attachments
Click View next to your desired attachment.

Confirmed it does work this way in the Cloud version. Is this what is also intended for Server?

Workaround

Navigate to the page itself, insert the Attachments macro and click Preview from there, or click on the thumbnail of the document already attached on a page.

Or upgrade to Confluence 6.12 or newer and click on the filename instead of the "View" link.
