Clicking View next to attachments opens in page rather than in Preview

      Summary

      Clicking view from the attachments summary page opens attachment in a Confluence page rather than in a preview light box.

      It can be very confusing especially if the user is attempting to edit an office document with Companion App.

      Environment

      • Confluence Server 6.11.0 or 6.11.1

      Steps to Reproduce

      Navigate to page containing attachment
      Select . . . > Attachments
      Click View next to your desired attachment.

      Expected Results

      Confirmed it does work this way in the Cloud version. Is this what is also intended for Server?

      Workaround

      Navigate to the page itself, insert the Attachments macro and click Preview from there, or click on the thumbnail of the document already attached on a page.

      Or upgrade to Confluence 6.12 or newer and click on the filename instead of the "View" link.

            A fix for this issue is available to Server and Data Center customers in Confluence 6.12.0
            Upgrade now or check out the Release Notes to see what other issues are resolved.

            We worked on this as part of some improvements we made in Confluence 6.12.0 which will be released very soon

            In Confluence 6.12.0 clicking on the View link will still open the file as shown here. But clicking on the file name will open the file in the file previewer.
