Description
Summary
If a key is pressed while the cursor is in a cell while resizing a row or column of a table in the page editor, the cursor icon becomes stuck on the resize handle icon and editing the table is no longer functionally possible. No other key or button press will exit this state.
Environment
Tested in the following browsers:
OSX - Chrome (Occurs)
OSX - Safari (Occurs)
OSX - Firefox (works as expected)
Windows - IE11 (Occurs)
Windows - EDGE (Occurs)
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a table in the page editor view
- While your cursor is in a cell of the table resize a column or row
- While resizing and dragging press any key to enter the disfunctional state
Expected Results
When the drag operation completes the icon and functionality are still present
Actual Results
Editing the table is no longer functionally possible until the page is saved or exited.
Notes
The behavior in Windows is slightly different as there is also a different bug in play with IE 11 and Edge where the correct cursor icon is not showing, but the result is the same. See: CONFSERVER-53364
Workaround
Reload the page. Confluence will then show you a message about a recent draft being saved and you can choose “resume editing”.
