Index recovery should use index snapshots first if they are available

XMLWordPrintable

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

Recovering the index from another working node is markedly slower than recovering from an existing snapshot (nearly twice the time, eg 20m for a snapshot and 30m from another node). There is also increased load on the node which generates the snapshot.

If there are snapshots available in the shared_home, they should be used before requesting a snapshot from another node.
