Atlassian update: Released in Confluence Data Center 7.3

      Hi everyone

Thanks for your comments and feedback on this issue. In Confluence Data Center 7.3, we released the ability to troubleshoot permissions problems. Space administrators can now look up a user, and find out exactly why they do, or don't, have permission to do something. You can even query a specific page, to bring in page restriction information. Administrators (people with Confluence Administrator or System Administrator global permissions) have even more power. They can search by users or groups across all spaces.

Please note that there are no plans to ship to this Confluence Server.

      Problem Definition

Confluence does not have anyway to check on a user permission to a page. Permission Helper will help admins to troubleshoot the user access easily.

      Suggested Solution

To implement a permission helper like the one in Jira to Confluence

      Why this is important

There is no way to check if a user have access to a particular Space or page.Admins need to figure out why the user does not have access to the space by checking multiple permission such as Global Permission, Group Permission, Page Permission and also Restriction. By having a Permission Helper like Jira. This will help admin to troubleshoot faster regarding what is missing in the user permission level.

      Workaround

      No workaround available.
