[CONFSERVER-52732] Editing a page with a table having more than 500 rows slow

            Hi All,

We've been investigating this issue and want to share some findings.

This issue relates specifically to a Firefox bug that caused the browser to become unresponsive when dealing with large tables. We have been able to replicate the issue, and have confirmed that the bug in Firefox was fixed as of Firefox 60. On this basis I'll be closing the ticket as Obsolete.

Over time, this particular issue has attracted a lot of attention as a focal point for other table/collaborative editing performance issues as its presentation is similar to what some users are encountering. Obviously this feedback is important, so I'd like to link to some other issues we're currently investigating to see if we can capture the experience users are having and try address it

In addition, we're investigating general slowness in the editor as part of CONFSERVER-60057: Editing a large page in Confluence causes Synchrony timeouts

We'll continue to capture additional information on these issues and expend the tracking as required.

            Closing this issue.

            Thanks,
            James Ponting

We are having problems working with tables, after upgrading Confluence to version 7.13.2.
In particular with Confluence page editing with Chrome version 96.0.4664.55 (Official Build) and collaborative editing enabled.
This results in significant performance issues in our installation.
We look forward to a prompt resolution of this issue.

2017, Gathering Interest..... but it is a bug and Priority is "highest"?

We do not have collaborative editing turned on and plain tables are still very slow

Tried a table with about 900 rows, with Collaborative editing turned on, on Chrome.

            It was very very slow.

6.2.1 and 6.2.4 are affected too

            Confluence 5.8.5 is not affected

            IE 11.0.9600 is slow

            Firefox  54 (Win)  is slow

            Firefox 52 (linux) is slow

Chrome 60 (Linux) works fast, as expected

It does not matter if synchrony is enabled or not

My workaround: Use Chrome instead of FF or IE
