Hi All,
We've been investigating this issue and want to share some findings.
This issue relates specifically to a Firefox bug that caused the browser to become unresponsive when dealing with large tables. We have been able to replicate the issue, and have confirmed that the bug in Firefox was fixed as of Firefox 60. On this basis I'll be closing the ticket as Obsolete.
Over time, this particular issue has attracted a lot of attention as a focal point for other table/collaborative editing performance issues as its presentation is similar to what some users are encountering. Obviously this feedback is important, so I'd like to link to some other issues we're currently investigating to see if we can capture the experience users are having and try address it
In addition, we're investigating general slowness in the editor as part of CONFSERVER-60057: Editing a large page in Confluence causes Synchrony timeouts
We'll continue to capture additional information on these issues and expend the tracking as required.
Closing this issue.
Thanks,
James Ponting
