Team Calendars are great! But they would be awesome if they provided what is now expected functionality for any calendar system - Reminder Notifications!
Unless reminder notifications are implemented, it will be up to individuals to continually review their multiple calendars in Confluence to know when events are happening. This is not practical and for many would ultimately mean that it is not practical to put important information into Team Calendars, especailly those events which you MUST recieve a reminder about so you don't forget them.
The implementation options for this are various, but I don't think anything fancy is required. Maybe each event can have a specific reminder option where people and a time can be assigned and an email is sent to those people when that event time period occurs. To improve upon this, an entire calendar reminder option would be nice where you could set up your own calendar reminder which sent you a personal email based on your preference for when you wanted to be notified, about how far into the future of the Calendar and how frequently.
eg. Reminder for MRoff - Birthday Calendar - Remind me Weekly about all events coming in the next two weeks

[CONFSERVER-51167] Reminder Notifications for Team Calendars
Kind of a side-bar to this, but is there a way to select who receives reminders for team calendar notifications? As it stands I can only get notifications/reminders for myself. I'd like others to receive notifications/reminds for people within certain groups.

added a comment - Another thing that would be nice to see is linking events so they have dependencies. That way if I change a date for one event, any dependent event changes accordingly.

added a comment - I would like to see both start date reminders and end date reminders. I'm often setting up events that are multiple days and there is a deliverable on the final day. I would like a reminder for this, but not necessarily the start of the event window.

I can't read this out of the comments here or a few related issues - is there a plan to implement reminders in Outlook for Team Calendars that were subscribed to Outlook?
This use scenario would be immensely useful to us: I create an event in Team Calendars that has a reminder 1 day before the event. My team members are subscribed to this Team Calendar in their Outlook. 1 day before the event, my team members get an Outlook reminder.

Thank you in advance for your reply! sahil.k Reminders were released to server with version 5.2 several months ago. You can upgrade at any time.

Hey infrastructure9, when you set reminders they're sent to anyone who's added the calendar to their "My Calendars" page. This page in our docs has more info.
