We would like to use team calendars to track and report on where team members vacation, sick leave, etc.

Consider providing functionality like contentbylable or reporting integration to allow the contents of one or more calendars to be minded and filtered.

A complete solution would allow users to enter their absences (sick, vacation, etc) into a team calendar and then extract this as a report every two weeks that would be past to our HR / payrole people. Combine this with associating labels (separate issue) to filter events and you have a powerful solution that can be integrated to other systems without API programing.

[CONFSERVER-51114] Ability to report on events by event type and an event field

            Dear Jira Team,

Any news in regard to this feature in terms of roadmap delivery?

The request is from 2012 and so far nothing has been done in this behalf. It would be really helpful to complement calendars features and other reports available.

This is a much needed functionality. Everyone uses the team calendars to let the team know when they will be out of the office...being able to pull that information into reports by event type (ex, Vacation, Sick Days, etc) would be useful.

            Hi Atlassian,

We are currently using Confluence Server, Team Calendars, Jira Server, and Portfolio. We would like to have this environment track everything that could affect a project schedule such as leave, meetings, holidays, sick days, etc so that jira/portfolio would truly be near real-time reporting capability globally. More teams and departments want to use this tool suite but are hesitant because their homegrown calendar is better at providing metrics.

            Thank you.

            Hi Dears,

i am looking foreward for this feature as well as and would kindly ask if there any plan to continue with this story?
It would create a big value for our daily team work if we could extract the calender entries by event-type and per user.
Best solution would be for my use case if we would see the total of days per user for a specific event-type.

Thank you very much for your effort and good work.

            Kind regards

            Frauke

Hi Guys, we also would like to see this function in place. Is there any plan to get reports on Team Calendars? Thanks

            Hi Don!
Nice to hear form you, mate. Hope you are doing well. I also received an email from you on this. I'll reply here so customers can benefit from this. Interesting direction you are heading. So here is our current thinking on this:

            1. Right now, something like this isn't on our roadmap, but we can certainly see ourselves heading into the direction of being able to report on events in the future.
            2. To head there we are considering a bit of an architectural shift between having this ridged concept of "calendar types" and having the idea of "event types" this supports some of your suggestions around labelling events. (covered off by TEAMCAL-765)

The only solution we have to something that you want right now is to use JIRA. I understand this is not possible for all customers but I'm documenting this here for those looking onboard:
            1. Create a project in JIRA to represent you want to report on (e.g. Employee Leave Tracking)
            2. Create your custom fields / workflows as desired
            3. Use JIRA reporting to report on approved leave etc..
            4. Create a Team Calendars JIRA calendar to visualise your leave in Confluence. We are working on TEAMCAL-417 right now to make visualising JIRA issue durations easier.
